Fashion brands

At Turis, we find that fashion and clothing brands are typically some of the most accustomed to using B2B eCommerce. And for a good reason. Selling products in a variety of sizes and colors will surely result in a headache if trying to keep the ordering process manual.

We’ve worked with a lot of fashion brands that all are good examples of B2B eCommerce. In this particular example, we’ve shown you Alpaca clothing.

Before digitizing their order process, Alpaca clothing was handling all of their B2B and wholesale orders manually. that meant that when one of their retailers had to stock up on Alpaca clothing’s products, they would need to:

  • Print an Excel-based order sheet
  • Fill the order sheet by hand, checking multiple times that everything was correct (and discarding a lot of order sheets due to mistakes)
  • Scan the order sheet and send it by email or fax
  • Wait for a response from Alpaca clothing, to make sure that everything ordered was, in fact, in stock

Needless to say, this was very time-consuming for the retailers. And also, even though they rigorously checked the order sheets for errors, they would sometimes have ticked off the wrong color or size. In the end, resulting in order errors and return shipments.

Alpaca clothing needed a solution that would make it easier for the customers to order quickly – and just as importantly – order the correct products.

With Turis, Alpaca clothing was able to do just that. They invited all their retailer to order online in a webshop ordering experience. An ordering experience very close to the one the retailers had gotten used to when shopping as private consumers. The retailers are now able to find all the information they need (product description, stock level, prices, etc.), and can place an order in a matter of seconds.

Even more importantly, Alpaca clothing is now able to considerably minimize the number of order mistakes using one simple tool: Turis’ Matrix ordering. Using matrix ordering, all colors and sizes of a product are displayed to the buyer at the same time. This not only helps ensure a simple and fast ordering process for the retailer but also significantly decreased the risk of ordering the wrong size or color.

Let’s move on to the next two B2B eCommerce examples.

Furniture and interior brands

The world of furniture and interior also has a lot of great B2B eCommerce examples. Here we will show you how Turis helped a furniture brand utilize B2B eCommerce to promote new products, ultimately increasing their sales.

Before digitizing their ordering process, the brand’s retailers would stick to ordering pretty much the same products every time. In general, the retailers were very reluctant to add any new products to their shelves and mainly wanted to stick with the products they already knew.

Just like the Alpaca clothing, the furniture brand was making its retailers order via order sheets, emails, and fax. Using that approach, it’s obvious why the retailers would never order anything new. They weren’t inspired to do so.

The brand switched their manual approach and created their B2B webshop using Turis. This way, their retailers were given a visual introduction to the new products whenever they would log in to order. The brand also added ‘New’ banners on the products, for them to really stand out. Eventually, the retailers were convinced and started buying more and more of the new product line.

But the brand did not only experience an increase in sales from the new products. By giving the retailers a visual and seamless ordering process, they were able to increase the sales of the regular products as well. In the end, increasing sales across their entire product line.

Moving on to the last of the three B2B eCommerce examples.

Food brands

The last of the B2B eCommerce examples we are going to show here is from a brand selling fresh fruit and vegetables. Like many other brands in the B2B and wholesale, they made heavy use of individual pricing for retailers.

As you might know, individual and custom pricing is a great tool for getting a bit of extra revenue. But it can also be a hassle to keep up with as the selling part. Especially as the number of special deals increases over time. With more than 20 different price schemes allocated between roughly 400 retailers, this was also a problem for this brand. Handling this manually, eventually became too much of a burden.

Instead of abandoning the differentiated pricing strategy, the brand instead decided to digitize their ordering process. Using Turis, they were able to handle all of their different pricing schemes without additional work. They created the 20 different price lists in Turis and assigned all retailers to each their respective list. Once that was over and done, everything was automated and running smoothly.


Now, when a retailer logs in to order, they are only shown the prices that apply to them. They don’t need to think about any potential discount or special deal when ordering. This is, of course, a big plus for the customer.

And the benefit for the brand was even more substantial. Now, when they receive an order, they are sure that all prices are correct. The order is transferred to their accounting system automatically, so they are 100% certain that their invoices come out correctly as well. There is no need for them to spend hours double-checking prices before sending an order confirmation or invoice.

Ultimately, the brand saved hundreds of hours of manual work, while at the same time giving their customers a better and more transparent ordering process.
